I didn't like dogs when I was a kid. I've had a bad past of getting chased by some random fierce/stray dogs. However, unbelievably, I became one of the people who started to love the lovable and loyal creatures since me and my mother adopted two fur-kids initially. My mother and I used to joke around that she gave birth to two puppies as we brought them straight from the clinic after one of the nurses offered us puppies to be adopted. The nurse immediately called her family members to bring the puppies over at that time.
Anyway, long story short, it has been a few years, and now we have four fur-kids back at home. Another two came along the way as they were adopted by my brother from the street and some random people. Even I couldn't believe myself that I'm actually fond of the doggies generally now; as I used to hate them. Let me introduce, from left at the back row in the picture, Begu and Puma. Those are the first two then-puppies that were adopted by us. The two puppies in the front row from the left are Brownie and Pinku. Two queens and two kings respectively.
The purpose of this article reflects on the title itself. Yes, I'm intending to use this space to raise at least a pinch of awareness among the public to practice adoption of dogs or any other animals as much as the public are willing to spend bucks to buy the babies from pet shops. It's definitely not wrong to buy pets, but I believe those who buy, may equally contribute in adoption so that strays on the streets could be saved from the crooked officials, bullies, intolerant drivers, the bad weather and finally, of course, from some brainless animal rapists.
I'm sure each of us must have seen at least one post circulating in social media like Facebook and Instagram every single day asking the public if they could adopt those strays. Imagine if each of the families could adopt one animal, then we could save a lot of lives from dying outside. So, rather than spending thousands, do practice in adopting those animals who are longing for loving owners. It is frustrating at times to see some people who are happily buying some dogs from the shop when there's one dying every day on the streets. After all, all the living beings on Mother Earth deserve a good life.
And, there you go. Look at those my hale and hearty fur-kids. I couldn't imagine what could have happened to them if we didn't adopt them. Adopt, don't shop! The world needs more love and kindness towards animals, too.
Well written and useful article!
