Flaws. According to Cambridge, flaw is a fault, mistake, or weakness, especially one that happens while something is being planned or made, or that causes something not to be perfect. Well, not in today's world. Why? Because the world is evolving. So as the humans. Everyone is trying to bring the best out of them despite their flaws.
So do you embrace flaws? Like blemishes? Blackheads? Dark eye circles? And more 'elements' that might sound weird to be embraced of, but I do. You may ask why, and I have a definite answer to it, because it's the proof that you've gone through something, whether it's good or bad. Personally, I love to embrace scars on my legs and feet which I got from getting bitten by leeches when I went for jungle trekking, scars from standing on sharp rocks in the beach even without realising it, and so on. It completes my love for the things that I love to do.
Let's say, when you have dark eye circles, the most popular question is, 'don't you sleep well?' Well, yes, I don't. I am doing something worth it. However, there are days where it seems to not be worth it. You have to be mindful to take it lightly, anyway. Recently, I hit the divider due to microsleep. I was driving to shoot without proper sleep a few days prior to it. It could have been fatal but I still have a lot more to do on Earth so I was saved. I've learned enough from that one incident. On a side note, NEVER, EVER SLEEP AND DRIVE. You might end up on another planet when your eyelid shuts for just a moment.
So back to our story, what I mentioned above are flaws that seem to be physical. I'm sure we're flawed emotionally and mentally as well. Or else the world would be so peaceful, right? Flaws by the mean of emotionally and/or mentally are like depression, anxiety, some disorder or disease and many, many more that you could name of. More than embracing it, I think those who are going through emotional sickness or mental sickness should be kind with themselves. Have some time for yourself. Try to talk to somebody. Not having a friend to share is not a reason today as we have hotline numbers where we can engage with somebody who will listen to us willingly. One of the not-for-profit organisations that we could rely on is Befrienders. The number is 03-76272929. Available 24/7, everyday.
Recently, I watched a documentary on Netflix titled, 'Crime Scene: The Vanishing at The Cecil Hotel'. Honestly, it started out like a spooky story but ended up touching my heart. I wouldn't want to give a spoiler but it has something to do with mental disorders as well. My heart goes out to the victim, Elisa Lam. Such an unfortunate story; that everyone should watch to understand the world of a girl who had been sick mentally.
Therefore, don't be afraid to look at your flaws and embrace them. Find beauty in everything. Try roaming around your scars and it will remind you of a story behind it - which will also remind you of how you had been. It could even be the scars you got from canning by parents (to raise you well!). But if it wasn't for a good purpose, do remember not to carry it forward to your children or to anyone else.
Choose to embrace your flaws. Life will seem to be more beautiful.
