ARR 2023 - Secrets of Success: A Remarkable Night

Pic Courtesy: DMY Creation Facebook Well, those who are in my closed circle know that I'm an ardent fan of Harris Jayaraj. I've also written a special entry for the man here  when I attended his concert. But, who would want to miss the Oscar-award winning Indian composer's concert after many years he had been to Malaysia?! Not me. I would definitely want to experience the live music from A.R. Rahman ; also celebrating 30 Years of ARR.  When A.R. Rahman 2023 - Secrets of Success live concert was announced to be held in Stadium Bukit Jalil on 28th January 2023 on  DMY Creation's Facebook , I was eager to attend it as it would be the first time of me going to ThalaivARR's concert! ( Thalaivar means Chief ). I managed to purchase the ticket on ticket opening day itself which was on 19th September 2022. Since then, I have been counting days to attend the live concert from the Grammy + Academy Award winning musician's concert. I really loved ARR's music and songs

Women Empower-mend?!

If you follow my blog posts, you know that I usually don't write about people. It's more to me and my self-related opinions or mumbles. This time I've decided to pour my thoughts on Women Empowerment based on a few incidents that have been lingering around me lately. This is based on my thoughts and observations purely.

Also read: Dear Ladies,

Firstly, I'm sure the whole nation is shaken by the alleged accusation of Mr. Sugu, the husband of the famous YouTuber, Mrs. Pavithra, for abusing her. Initially, I was glad to see them growing together as a couple up to the level when the wife received the 'Ipoh Icon' title. Just after a few days, it's despairing to hear that the husband hit her as she didn't mention his name during the award ceremony function.

Well, well, well, the media everywhere calls her by the name of Sugu Pavithra; and not just Pavithra alone. Even the YouTube channel has their name together. Perhaps, he should realize it and work together with his wife to build an empire. Who knows the outburst of a man's ego could shake up the whole nation.

In no time, I came across the downpour of netizen's holy and evil comments. On the contrary, some are trying hard to relate it to their races. No, Karen. Domestic abuse happens regardless, age, gender and race. If this happens to her husband instead, you would still find an article on my blog. Personally, I knew an Indian couple of whom the husband keeps motivating the wife to date till she outshines. It's all about individuality.

And for you people, I hope you're aware that domestic abuse is not virgin in our society. According to Women Aid Organisation (WAO), they have received a total number of 879 enquiries in the month of June alone. Sugu Pavithra's case seems to be an outbreak just because she's famous. If she's just an ordinary housewife now, we would not even bother to read the news.

So, are we just going to speak for those who are under the spotlight? The best thing that you could do now is to help women around your community to reach or speak out if they're one of the victims too. You can also do them a favor by sharing the hotline number of WAO.

However, I really hope that Mrs. Pavithra would handle this issue brilliantly for her and the children's sake. Anyway, this type of man does not deserve the independent queen.

Secondly, I've been following a Tamil drama based on women empowerment which primarily focuses on the issues that are faced by married women today. However, what triggered me to write this was I really did not expect the tragic ending of the 27 episodic drama even though that's the reality, yes.

For most of my drama watching experience, it usually ends with a happy ending. Especially a drama that's being watched by a whole family could end in a better way. The right-thinking society knows the impact behind the abuses or struggles faced by women. Therefore, I think it's time to focus on the guilty ones instead of just portraying weak women.

Maybe I have to accept that it's just a drama which portrayed the vague depiction of WE. Ughhh! I would not deny that the drama has good content, though. But, imagine a woman who's a real-life victim watching this drama and lost her hope? She would try to accept the irony when she should not!

*exhales* Empowerment is the authority or power given to someone. It's a process for them to grow stronger and confidently in whatever they do, regardless of gender. On this note, I believe that women empowerment is still alive. In reality, this society is sick and getting cruel day by day. As a righteous human, we should try to lend hands to mend each other's life.

In the end, it does not matter whether you're a man or a woman, you should always empower yourself for the better life ahead. Sugu Pavithra's case is just a reality check that egoistic men are still present in the society. The drama that I just talked about clearly depicts the impacts but as a hopeful lady, or as a concerned person at least, I would like to see those women get empowered in their reel life as well!
